The Botetourt County Courthouse has served the community for nearly 45 years. However, the passage of time has revealed a number of challenges that the current building can no longer overcome. These challenges include overcrowding, inaccessibility for people with disabilities, water leaks, failing mechanical systems, and inadequate security.

Recognizing the need for a modern and functional courthouse, Botetourt County has embarked on an ambitious project to construct a new facility that addresses these concerns while preserving the historical appearance of the existing courthouse. With an estimated cost of $25 million, the new courthouse will feature the same red brick façade, white-columned portico, green metal roof, and signature clock spire, ensuring a seamless blend of tradition and modernity.
